The basis of a permalink is quite easy to understand and believe it or not we have all used them in our daily routine.

option b) company-name.com/blog
Personally, if you haven’t already guessed it I opt for B. In this sense it becomes easier for the reader to recognize where they are out in the sites structure.
In SEO there are TONS of ways to optimize permalink’s to ensure faster crawl rates however when it comes to linkage we need to focus on the reader and the reader alone.
